Western Thermal limited has been contracted by Coventry University’s Mile Lane campus to provide thermal insulation to pipework and ductwork services, which will aid with the renovation of the former BT building in Mile Lane, just a short distance from the heart of the city’s campus. With the project now underway, it is expected to see the building work completed in February 2019.

Developers of the Wardian London have contracted Western Thermal to carry out essential insulation and heating works at the extensive development in the Docklands area, East London. Upon its completion in 2019, the Wardian London is expected to be one of the tallest residential developments in London and the United Kingdom.
One of the country’s top NHS emergency departments at Wexham Park Hospital is currently going through a thermal insulation, trace heating and fire stopping upgrade from Western Thermal.
Temple Point, one of Bristol’s flagship office buildings, is nearing completion of its thermal insulation work by Western Thermal. The £6 million redevelopment of the five-storey office building is currently undergoing a thermal insulation refurbishment to its internal office space, reception, and meeting area. Phillip Jones, Executive Operations Director at Western Thermal, said: “There is a lot of development going on throughout the country and our Regional office network is meeting this demand with plenty of exciting projects and a good pipeline. We are proud to have been a part of such an important centerpiece for Bristol.”
Southbank Place’s infrastructure is the latest in a series of contract wins for Western Thermal. The mixed used property development includes more than 800 new homes, along with offices, restaurants and shops. There are 23 cranes on site with up to 15 operating at the same time, with 4,000 tonnes of structural steel being used. The company has completed the first stage of thermal insulation work at Battersea Power Station and is in talks for the second stage of work. This is the largest residential project this year for the Company, with 100km of armaflex thermal insulation material being installed within all 862 apartments at the 42-acre site. Western Thermal has been awarded three major ventilation projects at Pittville Campus in Cheltenham, Trago Mills retail outlet in Merthyr Tydfil and Ysgol Bro Gwaun school in Fishguard. The Pittville Campus student village, a 570-bed university halls of residence, adds to the Company’s fast-growing portfolio of major residential projects and involved the installation of ventilation systems as well as thermal insulation.

Western Thermal installed Trace Heating and Thermal Insulation & Ventilation to the retail project, along with its Fire Protection & Stopping Divisional service to prevent or slow the spread of flames in a fire situation.

Western Thermal has commenced the final phase of its thermal insulation and trace heating work on the largest hospital emergency department of its kind in the UK at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
The hospital is expected to be the largest all single-patient room hospital in the UK, with up to 646 single bedrooms, all with en-suites. 40 are critical care units located within 23 wards alongside 18 operating theatres.
